Aerobic or cardiovascular exercises have 10 benefits that make the exercise work like a miracle in the body.

1. Increased muscle volume

Usually, when speaking of muscle volume, the effect of aerobic exercise is overlooked, and it focuses more on strength and endurance exercises. However, recent studies have shown that men who do 4 to 5 days a week for 40 minutes of intense aerobic exercise will see a 5 to 6 percent increase in leg muscle strength.

“If aerobic exercises are done right then, muscle growth will have a similar effect to endurance exercise,” said a sports specialist at Ballstyle University.

2. Increased heart and lung health

Aerobic exercises, especially swimming, make the body use optimal oxygen. These types of exercises reduce heart rate in rest. The low heart rate at rest indicates cardiovascular health.

Studies conducted in 2008 compared the levels of blood pressure and cholesterol in different people who have been active in various sports such as running and swimming. Researchers have found that people who swim and have better heart conditions than those who walk, and those who walk on their own heart conditions are better than those who live.

3. Gastrointestinal health

Studies published in November showed that aerobic exercise causes changes in the digestive system. People who exercise 3 to 5 times a week will focus more on a specific type of fatty acid in the digestive tract. These fatty acids improve digestive function.

4. Improves cholesterol levels

Performing aerobic exercise lowers LDL levels, which is called bad cholesterol. Cholesterol increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Exercise also boosts HDL (good cholesterol) in the body.

5- Reduce the likelihood of diabetes

Cardiovascular exercises reduce the likelihood of diabetes, as they increase blood glucose levels. Research has shown that even a small amount of aerobic exercise (20 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise and 10 minutes of intense aerobic exercise once or twice a week) can make a big difference.

Performing this amount of aerobic exercise will increase your insulin activity by up to 24 hours.

6. Better skin health

Studies have shown that people over the age of 40 who do aerobic exercise have a healthier skin. It’s not yet clear how exercise affects the health of the skin.

7. Improving morale

Aerobic exercise has a great effect on relaxing the body and reducing depression. Exercise reduces stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Activities such as running and swimming can increase your blood flow and increase your body’s energy levels.

9. Protection of memory in patients undergoing chemo-therapy

10. Increased volume of the hippocampus of the brain

Various studies have shown that exercising increases the volume of the hippocampal region of the brain. This section is related to memory.

In order to see the effect of exercise on the brain hippocampus, aerobic exercise should be performed at least 2 times a week. It is better to combine these exercises with power exercises.
